NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL INCOME TAX ORDINANCE #09172019 Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of Fulton County, Indiana, that the Fulton County Council approved at the Fulton County Government Building, 125 E 9th Street, Rochester, at 6:30 o'clock p.m. on October 15, 2019, the following proposed ordinance regarding the local income tax imposed within Fulton County. ORDINANCE MODIFYING LOCAL INCOME TAX RATES FULTON COUNTY BE IT ORDAINED by the County Council of Fulton County, Indiana that a need now exists to modify the local income tax rates imposed in the following way: Allocation Rate Category Existing LIT Rate Proposed LIT Rate Certified Shares (IC 6-3.6-6) 1.0000% 1.000% Public Safety (IC 6-3.6-6) 0.2500% 0.5500% Economic Development (IC 6-3.6-6) 0.2000% 0.2000% Property Tax Relief Rate (IC 6-3.6-5) 0.4800% 0.4800% Special Purpose Rate (IC 6-3.6-7-8.7) 0.2500% 0.2500% Correctional or Rehabilitation Facilities (IC 6-3.6-6-2.7) 0.2000% 0.2000% Total: 2.3800% 2.6800% . The adoption of the proposed increase of the Public Safety Income Tax Rate will increase the total local income tax rate for Fulton County. The local income tax rates proposed above will become effective on January 1, 2020. The public safety allocation identified above includes revenue associated with an expenditure rate that was previously authorized for the purposes of funding the county's public safety access point ("PSAP"). The revenue associated with this rate shall be directed to the PSAP prior to the distribution of the remainder of the public safety revenue.
