July 30, 1931 - Dec. 4, 2019

Wanda Louise Loudermilk, 88, of the Tiosa community, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at Woodlawn Hospital.

On July 30, 1931, Wanda was born in Piney View, W.Va., to Tommy Allen and Roxie Faye Garrett Bragg. Growing up, she shared her childhood with nine siblings.

In Beckley, W.Va, Wanda L. Bragg and Emory G. Loudermilk were married on April 9, 1948. From their union came three daughters and two sons. They shared 46 years of life’s adventures. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.

As an entrepreneur, Wanda founded a company, “Amish Fudge.” She personally crafted a variety of flavors of fudge and traveled around the United States sharing her fudge with state fair attendees. She was known to all simply as “Grandma.” This was an ongoing tradition for more than a half century. “Grandma” was a vendor even this fall at the North Carolina State Fair. Additionally Wanda was the proud owner and operator of A-1 Catering Service for more than 40 years. Gifted with the use of her hands, she was an accomplished seamstress, creating wedding dresses for many young women.

Left to cherish the memory of Wanda are her daughters, Linda Wood and husband Larry, Mogadore, Ohio, Sondra Loudermilk, Rochester, and Ronda Crosby and husband Joe, Raleigh, N.C.; son Denvil Loudermilk and wife Janet, Akron, Ohio; daughter-in-law Sonja Zoppe Loudermilk, Rochester; grandchildren Rob Calhoun and wife Ashley, Leslie Wood, Lauren Blankenship and husband Mark, John Loudermilk and wife Dawn, Corey Markus and husband Josh, Lisa Loudermilk and Tommy Loudermilk; great-grandchildren Max Calhoun, Reese Calhoun, Madelyn Blankenship, Morgan Blankenship, Lexi Loudermilk, Bryson Markus and Addison Markus; sister Garnett Ziegler, Akron, Ohio; brother Lawrence Bragg and wife Von, Gastonia, N.C.; feline companions Otie, Milo, Golden Boy and Frankie; and nieces and nephews.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Emory on Feb. 7, 1994; son Frank Loudermilk; seven siblings; and feline companion Princess.

A celebration of the life of Wanda L. Loudermilk is 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
